“Use Other Door” invited artists to submit contemporary work that represented their interpretation of what their “other door” might be. As the call description stated, this “other door” might be something as literal as choosing between two or more physical doors to gain access to something. Or, it could represent something intangible, such as a missed opportunity, conquering a fear, pursuing a dream or abandoning a goal.
“Use Other Door” is a vibrant, dynamic, and expressive show featuring sculpture, photography, assemblage, painting, and mixed-media by 22 artists from around the country. Participating artists: Jeni Bate (California), April Bermudez (California/Nevada), Zoe Camper (Nevada), Lisa Dittrich (Nevada), Steve Dudrow (Nevada), Laura Esbensen (Nevada), David Fay (Nevada), Christopher Fowler (Maryland), Julia Gonzalez-Hall (Nevada), Michelle Graves (Nevada), Mark Kaufman (Nevada), Neil Kesterson (Nevada), Jeffrey Lewis (Nevada), Keeva Lough (Nevada), John Manno (New York), Erika Muecke (Nevada), Jeffrey Oldham (Nevada), Alexandru Sacui (Georgia), Eva J. Scoville (Nevada), Linda Shaffer (Nevada), Harmoni Wallace (Nevada), and Shahab Zargari (Nevada).
