We received our first bit of snail mail! And lo and behold, its a novel about werewolves!
Judging by the glowing reviews on GoodReads and the graphic novel style cover art I was amped to get started.
The book feels like the author’s first try at a novel, and she gets kudos for taking the leap.
But this guy just couldn’t get into it. Fantasy Romance isn’t really a style I read often, nor is young adult fiction.
It’ll be interesting to see this author polish her style in future books, but as for this one, the story goes something like this:
The city is called Wereville…the fake movie werewolf is called Wolfern, and then there’s a real Wolfern and he lives at Wolfern Manor and the main character meets the real werewolf because she just happens to become an actress, a lifelong dream of hers.
Again, not really the type of storyline this reviewer normally gravitates towards. I think that if a teenage girl were to have read this book (instead of me) she would have been in novel heaven. As for me, the book was definitely not written with my demographic in mind. And that’s ok.
