Amusement park corporation Six Flags Entertainment Corp. announced on Saturday that it is opening an attraction based on Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim film at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California.
The “Pacific Rim 5D” attraction uses the SimEx-Iwerks Turbo Theater, which has been unused since 2008. It features a combination of stereoscopic 3D footage with motion-based seats and water effects. The Discovery Kingdom amusement park began offering sneak previews of the attraction on Saturday, ahead of its formal debut in the coming weeks.
